Pratyusha Support Wants To Help Hundreds Get Timely Oxygen During This Crisis, You Can Help

While the year began with new hope and a hint of normalcy, it wasn’t long before we found ourselves in the midst of the second wave. COVID-19 has changed our lives forever, and this year, the number of cases and deaths are on a sharp rise. The pain and suffering is never ending, our healthcare system is crumbling and thousands are left helplessly fighting for their lives.Amid these tough times, Pratyusha Support wants to help those in need by giving timely oxygen cylinders and concentrators that can save their lives.

Pratyusha Support, started in 2014 by South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has been serving the underprivileged by delivering some unparalleled medical support to women and children, while also fulfilling the wishes of those children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions. Organizing free medical check-up campaigns, free child vaccination campaigns, blood donation camps, awareness programs, and helping families financially overcome severe situations and medical crises have been their primary services.At the beginning of the pandemic last year, Pratyusha Support distributed groceries to over 10 small organizations and has helped hundreds of underprivileged people in the process. Today, with the acute shortage of oxygen, they once again want to lend their helping hand to someone in need. They want to get oxygen cylinders and concentrators to support those who have no access to these life-saving equipment.

With the current cases hitting record-breaking numbers every day, oxygen cylinders are of the utmost importance right now. The need is urgent. Oxygen Cylinders / Concentrators and other medical gear raised in this campaign will be installed in hospitals where there is a need and will also be distributed to patients in Home quarantine. The following process will be followed to ensure these items reach real beneficiaries. 

For Hospitals: Donatekart works closely with government, NGO partners who share the requirement of medical equipment/beds in various hospitals across the state from time to time basis. Pratyusha Support and Donatekart team verifies the request and sends the required equipment to Hospitals. We will keep you posted on the distribution process in the update section of this campaign.

For Home Quarantine patients: Humanity First Foundation(HFF) will lead the efforts of providing cylinders/concentrators to home quarantine patients. HFF has been this activity since the first wave of Covid-19. To make sure these medical gear reach needy patients, they follow the following process.

1) HFF gets the request from patients through calls or messages.

2) They verify the doctor's prescription recommending the oxygen supplement.

3) Patients ID proof is collected along with a deposit amount, which will be refunded upon returning the cylinder.

4) Oxygen cylinders will be sent to the patient's place on an auto/ truck hired by HFF. To provide a continuous supply of oxygen to the patient during the refilling, a backup cylinder is also provided.
