Help Pratima Feed Over 400+ Stray Dogs

While we were isolated in our homes with our families, the stray dogs went hungry. These voiceless creatures are dependent on the food scraps by vendors, shopkeepers, restaurant owners, bakery owners, and so on. And, with everything shut down, these dogs are on the edge of starvation. 

Mother Teresa once said, “It’s not about how much you do, but how much love you put into it that counts.” 

This is something that Pratima Devi has been doing from a very young age. 

Pratima Devi, a rag picker, has taken upon herself to take care of dogs. She feeds them like her pets and has taken care of about 400 dogs. Whether it's just a puppy or an old dog, Pratima will stop at nothing to nurture dogs. She assures the dogs receive proper care, whether it's medicines or nourishment. 

After getting married at 7, she had 3 kids by the time she was 18. Things took a turn for the worse and her husband became an alcoholic. Under the influence of the in-laws, he would regularly beat her. She fled to Kolkata, bought land and started farming. Making a mere 20 rupees a day, life was tough. 

After moving to Delhi she opened up a tea shop and started taking care of dogs. With the lockdown in place, there is no business for her tea shop. She’s struggling to make ends meet as she also has to take care of hundreds of Man’s Best Friends. 

She is an epitome of dedication and resilience surmounting all the challenges and hurdles. She has nothing to offer, but love and support to help these dogs survive on the streets amidst this crisis. Help her make ends meet, make a donation to help her feed these voiceless creatures.
