Project
Mrida Education and Welfare Society started in April 2016 with the vision to work towards fundamentally transforming the Mahakaushal region comprising Mandla, Dindori and Balaghat districts in Madhya Pradesh that are also inhabited by the Gond and Baiga tribes in majority.
Our work comprises a school (Riverside Natural School), sports program (Riverside Leagues), a skilling lab for youth (Riverside Labs), a shelter home housing 45 of our most talented children and a tinkering & robotics program for Government school children (Narmada Valley Avishkar Lab).
We are now launching a campaign to get products for our sports program. We need footballs, football boots, tracksuits and woollens/blankets (for winter), ahead of our maiden football league, catering to over 250 players. This will also help us scout and identify young sporting talents from the neediest backgrounds whom we can provide a high quality education + accommodation at the Riverside Natural School and shelter home. The tribal children in this region are naturally strong and can be groomed to play sports at the highest level, if spotted at the right time.
Our Achievements in 1 year:
1. 24 players who have played for district, division and state football
2. 1 player selected for national level in wushu
3. Our top runners are finishing the 10 Km run in 36 mins
Right now, we have 45 girls and boys, living in the shelter home. We provide a well-rounded diet, in addition to after school programs for all children.
Our entire team including the founders live here with these kids. This is our family and we are giving it everything that we have to ensure these kids get the brightest future possible. This Daan Utsav, help us make this happen.
