This Young Mother Needs Your Help To Save Her Newborn Babies

No one dreams of the worst when they dream of their children’s future but Mangesh and Prajakta Bodke have been living in fear for the last month since their twins were born. Their babies saw the light of the world way before their time was due and are now struggling to survive. The young parents are frantic and desperate - they’re doing all they can to save their kids but they don’t know if they can afford the treatment.

This mother’s heart aches as she sees her little ones suffer in pain

Mangesh and Prajakta were overjoyed when the doctor confirmed the pregnancy. The first-time mother, Prajakta, has been listening to the doctor's advice and following everything she was asked to. She loved watching her mother-in-law sew blankets for the little ones as she spoke about her husband’s childhood. The husband and wife started deciding on names and planning their future. But during her sixth month of pregnancy, the tests revealed reduced blood flow to the babies in her womb.

“Despite medicines and proper care, my condition wasn’t improving. The only way to save my children was to give birth to them before time. I was scared - I didn’t know if they would be able to make it… - Prajakta recalls while controlling her tears.

Prajakta’s twins were born on 14th March - a beautiful baby boy and a girl. But they had to be rushed to the NICU. It has been a little more than a month since they have been surviving in these glass chambers with the help of multiple machines and medicines. While their weight has increased and they’re showing signs of improvement, the doctor thinks these babies need continued care for two more months

“After one month, I was finally able to hold my baby girl in my arms. I can’t tell you how happy I felt - I felt so complete. Her tiny fingers and toes…she was pretty as a doll! But at the same time, my mind raced back to my baby boy who is still too small and fragile. He can’t breathe on his own. How do I save my babies?”

These parents are in desperate need of support - donate now to save their babies

Mangesh Bodke is a farmer in Panchvati, Nashik. He has a small piece of land where he grows occasional vegetables and flowers. With his seasonal income, he supports a family of four - his aged parents, his wife, and himself. A hard-working man, Mangesh had been saving up for their future and thanks to that, he was able to pay off some of the hospital bills

“But it was not enough. I had to borrow from friends and relatives and only then was I able to pay 7 lakhs for the last month at the hospital. My babies need two more months to recover and it will cost me over 18 lakhs. There is no way I can arrange for so much,” - Mangesh, father.

This is your chance to make a difference. Support these poor parents and help them bring their babies home.
