An Urgent Liver Transplant Can Save Little Shravani From Her Painful Liver Condition

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

"Why has God made me this way, Pappa? why can’t I be normal like other kids?" asks 6-year-old Shravani, tears streaming down her face. Shravani's little body is wracked with pain. Her stomach is painfully swollen, her eyes have turned yellow, and she can hardly eat without vomiting or having severe diarrhea. The constant pain and discomfort make it hard for her even to sleep or find any relief.

Shravani has a severe liver condition and needs an urgent liver transplant to survive. As her condition worsens, her parents, Guruprasad and Vidyashree, are desperately running out of time to save their precious daughter.

A Lifelong Battle with Biliary Atresia Has Kept Her Confined and Weak

Since birth, Shravani has been fighting a tough battle. Diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a severe liver condition that obstructs bile flow from the liver to the gallbladder, Shravani's life has been filled with hospital visits and painful treatments. At just 2.5 months old, she had her gall bladder removed, but her condition continued to deteriorate. "When the doctors told us about her diagnosis, our world shattered," says Guruprasad. "We hoped the surgery would help, but it didn't."

Now, at six, Shravani has never experienced the joys of a normal childhood. She has never been able to attend school or play freely like other children, as her illness keeps her confined and weak. Watching her two older brothers run around and play only deepens her sense of isolation and longing.

"She looks at her brothers and asks why she can't be like them," Vidyashree shares, wiping away tears. "It's heartbreaking to see her struggle while they are so active and healthy."

Despite her condition, Shravani tries to stay cheerful, often playing house and pretending to cook, inspired by her father's profession. But the physical limitations and constant pain are overwhelming. She can only play for a short time before the pain becomes too much and she starts to cry. Shravani has never known a life without pain, and without an urgent liver transplant, she might never know one.

Her Parents Can’t Afford Her Life-Saving Transplant

Guruprasad works as a cook, earning a modest income of 5000 rupees when there's work, and Vidyashree, a teacher, earns just 4000 rupees a month in Davangere, Karnataka. Despite their hard work and determination, they cannot afford the life-saving liver transplant Shravani desperately needs. The surgery costs a staggering 25 lakhs, an amount far beyond their reach.

"It breaks my heart to see her in so much pain," says Guruprasad. "She keeps asking why she can't be like other kids, and all I can do is tell her she'll be fine soon, even though I'm terrified for her future."

Shravani's condition is critical, but there is hope. A liver transplant could save her life and give her a chance to live the life she dreams of. Shravani's family has exhausted all their resources trying to provide for her medical needs. Now, they turn to the kindness and generosity of others, hoping for a miracle. Please, help us give Shravani a chance at life. Your support can make all the difference.
