Project
Today, 85 out of 100 children with rare condition can be cured worldwide. In India, less than 20 out of 100 children with rare condition are cured.
The medical staff and the team at impact work towards ensuring that every child with rare condition receives optimal treatment to live a dignified life free of suffering.
It is our endeavour to provide a sustainable and replicable model of care for treatment of children with rare condition across India.
By providing quality infrastructure and holistic support to children and their families, we strive to increase the overall cure rate of childhood rare conditions and decrease the treatment abandonment rate.
A comprehensive ecosystem of partnerships is created to provide specialised care including accommodation, food, transport, blood products and lab services. This helps bridge the gap in public hospital infrastructure.
Currently we operate out of a government run regional rare condition center based in Hyderabad, Telangana. Our efforts have led to the establishment of the largest pediatric oncology ward in the state and increased the overall cure rate to 45%. We hope to create a replicable model of care that can be reproduced in government hospitals across India.
The impact Ecosystem
The heart of our treatment system is the CARE Team, a skilled group of doctors, nurses, counselors and volunteers. This dedicated team provides day-to-day, hands-on care and support to children and their families. In addition to our CARE Team, we are also committed to providing important support services including accommodations, nutritious food, palliative care, transport, medicines, blood products and lab facilities.
