Aahardaan Foundation Seeks Your Support To Help The Hundreds Who Have No Job And Can’t Even Afford A Single Meal

Hunger is the bane of so many unfortunate lives in India. Going to bed hungry is their sad reality. The pandemic has made things worse for them. Daily wagers, migrant workers and the poorest of the poor comprise this group of people. With the advent of the pandemic, these people have hardly been able to eat even one meal a day. Their children are starving but there’s nothing the helpless parents can do. Based out of Sangli,Maharashtra, Aahardaan Foundation is an NGO that wants to reach out to these people in need and give them a better life.  

Aahardaan Foundation is reaching out to people in distress, unemployed because of pandemic, travelling for COID treatment, people with disabilities, orphans and children who can't have access to food. The foundation has started it's food relief work in Maharashtra.

How do they work?Aahardaan Foundation exists to end hunger. Through their non-profit initiatives Aahardaan has fed over 4000 families (approx. 1,20,000 meals) in rural parts of Maharashtra, during floods and even in the initial days of the pandemic

Aahardaan Foundation works with the slum dwellers, Bahurapi migrant samaj, homeless people living on streets, people living in redlight areas and daily wage workers who depend on odd jobs. “These are people who had left their homes in search of a better life and now they can’t even go back home. They have no income and their families are starving. For example, the Bahurapi have been earning only with the help of their art and skills, there is not much they can do beyond that. But due to the pandemic, they haven’t been able to perform and as a result they haven’t been able to feed themselves. We want to help them - they deserve a better life,” - Niranjan, co-founder of Aahardaan Foundation.  
With a semi-automated centralised kitchen, the NGO has been able to keep its overhead costs under check and thus has been able to serve many more people. They are serving hot, nutritious meals to the poor and needy at a minimal cost with the help of food kiosks. 

Aahardaan needs your help “We ignore this fact that, without good food they (poor people) starve and eventually end up being weak, avoid going to work or school. Because of Intermittent lockdown and no work in city, they are helpless and have no place to go. When we feed them good food, they atleast feel hopeful and proactively look out for some work. Good Food is the only way to protect them from going back to poverty trap” - Niranjan.
