Donate Walking Sticks And Help Visually Impaired People Live Comfortably

    Project

For people with disabilities, life is extremely difficult. Not only do they have to overcome physical challenges but they also face tremendous stigma and discrimination. Getting access to basic essentials and public places, and getting an education becomes very challenging. For those who come from lower economic backgrounds, their struggles are only increased.

There are over 62 million people in India who are visually impaired, of which 8 million are visually challenged. They deserve to have opportunities just like everyone else. They deserve to live a life full of happiness and comfort and not in constant apprehension of meeting with one accident or another.

They have lost their sight to a disease or an accident, their everyday struggles are a reminder of that

Simple tasks become difficult in a matter of no time and the worst part of all this is that they end up being dependent on others for simple tasks. Often they turn into an object of ridicule or pity for everyone.

“That is not a life anyone would want for themselves! We see the look of pity in their eyes and feel like a burden to our loved ones. We end up blaming our fate for this and get into depression. We believe that this is our life and it can never get any better,” - Suman*, a middle-aged woman with visual impairment.

But with a simple donation, you can change everything

A simple walking stick is a boon for the visually challenged. It can guide them, and make them aware of steps, or any obstacle in the way. Unfortunately, these are not readily available most of the time. It's either not sold where some visually challenged folks live or too expensive. Which is an unfair reason for them to suffer.

You can be a ray of hope for the visually impaired and give a new meaning to their lives. Donate walking sticks and bring back their smiles now.

Building awareness within the community about autism is also one of our goals, so that the community not only accepts them but also includes them as part of the society.
