Sonia Is Fighting to Save Stray Dogs from Punjab Floods. Join Her Mission To Save the Voiceless

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

On August 26–27, 2025, relentless monsoon rains triggered catastrophic floods across Jammu and Punjab. The Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej rivers swelled beyond their limits, breaching embankments and submerging entire villages. In Pathankot, one of the worst-hit districts, families fled their homes, but amid the chaos, hundreds of stray dogs were left behind, hungry and terrified.

While the world focuses on human survival, another tragedy is unfolding on the streets. Stray dogs, already living on the margins, are now wandering waterlogged roads without food, shelter, or care. Many have been injured while escaping rising waters. Others are starving after being cut off from their usual food sources

Voiceless’s Voice Foundation: Their Only Hope

In Pathankot, Voiceless’s Voice Foundation has stepped up to be their voice. Even before the floods, this small NGO was feeding and rescuing strays every single day. Today, they are feeding 3,000 meals to over 1,500 stray dogs daily, have rescued around 3,500 dogs, and provided shelter to 600 dogs and 25 cows, who now live in safety and dignity. When the floods came, we saw dogs crying in fear, running through the water with nowhere to go. We couldn’t turn away. We brought as many as we could to safety, fed them, and treated their wounds. But there are so many more still waiting for help.”Sonia, Voiceless’s Voice Foundation

The current shelter is overflowing. With more rescues every week, the team is struggling to make space. They urgently need funds to build a bigger, safer shelter where these dogs can heal, eat, and live with dignity. Each one of them has survived unthinkable pain. But when we give them a meal, their tails wag, their eyes shine. It tells them: you are not forgotten.”Sonia, Voiceless’s Voice Foundation
