The Villages In India Are Struggling To Fight The Second Wave, Help Spoorthi Foundation Save Lives

Covid-19 has hit rural India, leaving thousands suffering. The situation in many villages is alarming. So many families have been ravaged by the pandemic. They’ve lost their jobs, their loved ones and are struggling to feed their children.

“We are all aware of the situation that the country is currently facing - helplessness and chaos shrouds us. But rural India is in a much worse condition. There is a lack of awareness and people are unable to afford even a single meal. That’s why we are trying our best to help the poor and the underprivileged in the villages,” - Srivyal Vuyyuri, Founder of the Hyderabad-based Sphoorti Foundation. 

The only ray of hope in these tumultuous times is that of people coming together and helping the ones in need. Like hundreds of other NGOs, Sphoorti Foundation is doing its bit to help the ones in immediate need.

Sphoorti Foundation works for the rehabilitation of underprivileged children - orphaned, abandoned, destitute and other vulnerable sections of society. They have also worked extensively since the pandemic to help the ones in need by distributing grocery kits and medicines. 

Last year, they had donated grocery kits to 8000 families, 40000 bread packets and had helped over 2000 private school teachers. This year too, they want to reach out to the ones in need and help them with getting grocery kits. They want to help those from the most vulnerable sections of society which also includes the trans community, commercial s*x workers, artisans, auto drivers and widows among others.

These grocery kits contain around 15 food items which will help them survive during these difficult times. However, Sphoorti Foundation needs your support now. With your contribution, they will be able to help so many more people in need.
