With Your Support, Shri Diety Gaushala Can Protect 9500+ Abandoned And Injured Cows From Cruelty

It is heart-wrenching to see the cows being abandoned and left on the streets to fend for themselves. With nothing to eat, they are forced to feed on plastics, garbage and sometimes, even, iron scraps. They’re found on the roads, unconscious or in terrible pain. That is when Shri Diety Gaushala and its dedicated gau-sevaks come to the rescue.

Abandoned and injured, these cows need help

Since 1995, Shri Diety Gaushala has been a safe home for cows. It started with 13 cows and now they have around 9500 cows. These are mostly older cows who have stopped producing milk and as a result, they are considered of no use to the household.

“As a result, they’re left out in the open and they have a hard life ahead of them. Some are taken to slaughter houses whereas the others die an untimely death. We get to bring the lucky ones to our gaushala and here we take very good care of them. We have often operated out 3-4 kilos of plastic from their stomach. You can imagine the pain they must be in,” -   Ayush, volunteer, Shri Diety Gaushala.

Started by Surajbhan Gupta, with the help of the then Delhi government, Shri Diety Gaushala is one of the largest gaushalas around Delhi NCR and takes care of cows in 50+ acre land. They have a medical van with lift facility to pick up the injured cows from the roads for treatment. 

Along with this, there is a school running inside the gaushala campus for children of Gau-Sevaks. The supply of electricity inside the gaushala is provided by solar power. They also produce 1000 kg of protein-rich green fodder every day by hydroponics for weak cows.

You can support them to save many more cows in need

Although the gaushala has a lot of space, they are unable to build more sheds for the cows. More and more cows are in need of help and rescue but simply because of lack of space, they are unable to house them. Hence they are requesting help so that they can build a bigger and better place for the cows in need. They need 2 sheds 200×50 feet in size for the cows, 20-30 fans, fodder for cows and bricks and cement for the construction of the sheds.

“In the last few years of their lives, these cows are left to fend for themselves. It is not only selfish but also sad to see how we have no empathy left for these animals who have served us all their lives. We want to give them a happy and safe home and nutritious meals. Please help us.”

About the NGO: Started in 1995, Shri Diety Gaushala is spread over a sprawling 50 acres of land and caters to the needs of over 9500 cows. Most of them are sick and injured and need special care.
