This Couple In Pune Is Uplifting Hundreds Of Homeless Children, Join Their Mission

“I know the pain of surviving in this world without the love and support of your parents. It is daunting and every day seems like a struggle. I have always wanted to work for abandoned and orphaned children. Today, Satish and I are parents to over 120 children who had no one to care for them. We are working very hard to give them a life of happiness and comfort,” - Yogita Moon, Co-Founder, of Shikshangram. 

These children deserve love and care. Yogita and Satish have made it their life’s mission to uplift hundreds like them 

Based out of Pune, this NGO is home to 120+ children forced to live a life of misery and pain. These innocent kids have struggled in railway stations, slum areas, and bus depots for a little bit of food or a roof over their heads. With no one to look after them, they have fallen prey to substance abuse and other criminal acts. 

“These children used to have a brush with the authorities every other day. They used to get beaten up. This is not the childhood they deserve! Here at Shikshangram, they know they have their parents to take care of them, they are being fed nutritious food and given an education so that they can stand on their own feet.” 

Yogita and Satish have dedicated their lives to bringing back the smiles on the faces of these little kids who have only known to suffer. With love, kindness, and constant hard work, this couple is making a huge difference in the lives of 120+ kids. 

But there are many more who need their support 

“Poverty and helplessness force people to take dire steps and I have seen the consequences with my own eyes. One of the girls staying with us told me that her mother had sold her off for a mere Rs 500. I can’t imagine what she had to go through. I need your support to give many more like her a safe home.”
