Petluck Animal Rehabilitation Center is a home for injured, abandoned, and old dogs. We not only rescue them but also try to provide them with ample love and care with shelter and food. Petluck had a humble beginning when sudden news of a dog along with her newborn puppies, trapped in an ill-ventilated, under-construction flat on the 7th floor of a gated community with no food and water for 7 days reached us. We consider ourselves fortunate to be presented with the opportunity to rescue the dog family in time and put them in a makeshift rehabilitation centre. This heartbreaking incident proved to be enlightening as we realized the plight of the mute animals and started our venture of vaccinating them and rescuing the injured, abandoned stray dogs from the street.
Petluck is now home to many rescued animals, led by the first to be rescued mother dog and her puppies who have now graduated to the rank of seniors. Our guests are always welcomed by the mother-dog family before they are taken to witness other facilities.
Walk around any locality in India, and you are sure to find your local stray dogs, cats and even cows nearby. The streets are their homes, and the kindness of us humans is what they rely on to survive.
Unfortunately, not everyone is kind to them. In fact, animals face so many atrocities at the hands of humans. They are abandoned, left starving, and even abused and injured. Many consider them a nuisance when they bark helplessly or make their way to our compounds looking for even a little bit of food. And this is the story of countless stray animals in India.
