"She was walking right before my eyes sometime back, and now, she's dead. She didn't make it because she didn't get oxygen in time. How many more will have to suffer like this?"
These sights are common for people at hospitals these days. These are the worst of times. The death toll is rising with every passing day and so is the pain and hopelessness. The Second Wave of the pandemic is even more horrifying and there is complete mayhem. In these times, the only ray of hope is that of people coming together to help each other. Thousands are dying due to oxygen shortage in the country.
Praveenlata Sansthan, a Jaipur based NGO, is working very hard to provide oxygen concentrators across the city. Since the start of the pandemic last year, they have been working extensively to help hundreds of underprivileged and marginalized families who had to bear the brunt of the pandemic the most. With industries and businesses having shut down,most of them have lost their jobs. They don’t have enough to feed their family, often they’re forced to beg for the bare minimum.
And in a situation like this, they are in no position to look for oxygen cylinders, concentrators and other necessary medicine. Hence it’s the need of the hour to distribute as many oxygen cylinders as possible.
“I have seen poverty and suffering from very close. I know what a family faces when there is no money at all, even to buy the basic necessities. I have been forced to drop out of school and take up odd jobs to support my family. But the situation we are in today is unprecedented. We need as many people as they can come forward to help others. Every bit counts,” - Bharti Singh Chauhan, Founder, Praveenlata Sansthan.
Praveenlata Sansthan wants to help people get access to oxygen supplies, and also wants to distribute groceries to hundreds of those who are struggling to feed themselves and their families. This will help them have fresh meals during these tough times.

About NGO: PraveenLata Sansthan is a Jaipur based NGO registered in April 2013 working with its operations across Rajasthan. The primary focus is to alleviate the problems of the poor and their struggle to obtain a life of justice and dignity focusing on Child Welfare, Women Empowerment & Rural Development. An in-depth understanding of issues in the area and consistent support from community members have led the organization to undertake and implement various need based interventions on education, health and skill development at grass root level.
