Usher in a new
world of care and kindness
Ek Aasha Chhoti Si is a small private initiative run by Orpita Ghosh in East Delhi. Under this initiative Orpita looks after, feeds, provides immunization cover and medically attends to more than 200 dogs, more than 60 cats and nearly 150 stray bovines.
Despite the
onset of a tough winter, Orpita starts her day at 5 am feeding anywhere between
120—150 dogs finishing up at 9 am, post which she starts on her daily attending
calls to medically tend to injured animals, street rescues, animal birth
control (ABC) pick-ups, interspersed by bovine feeding between 4.30-6.30 pn and
then winding up her day feeding the stray felines in the neighbourhood
Orpita caters
to the feeding appetite and different eating habits – by mixing custom prepared
food (which she makes herself) and branded high quality feed such as Pedigree
and Chappi (kibble and gravy) for dogs
and Whiskas (kibble, jelly and gravy) for cats. The challenge grows bigger as
the cost of food and medical care has grown exponentially- hence the need &
call for help and support ...
Ek Aasha Chhoti
Si recently completed several milestones – from the neutering /ABC of more than
150 dogs in the last 3 months, to multiple medical management cases, to rescues
of large and small animals. A donor – contributor’s support becomes that much
bigger and immense in the light of these challenges
The number of
stray, destitute and abandoned animals keeps growing - their need for food and
medication keeps growing.... These
animals’ cry for help harkens/beckons us all to answer to those calls – to
bring cheer, some help and happiness this winter season, this New Year to these
lives. Ek Aasha Chhoti Si urges you all to keep the passion of giving alive, to
do your bit in any little way you can... for each little bit matters and goes a
long way... Your Giving is will be your Blessing to them and they shall thank
you back with a warmth filled grateful heart....
