Raajasri Is Devoted To Feeding Hundreds Of Pilgrims & Sadhus In Tiruvannamalai, Join Him

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

Said to be around a thousand years old, the Arunachaleswarar Temple, also known as the Annamalaiyar Temple is believed to be the eighth largest temple in the world. Spread over 25 acres at the foot of Tiruvannamalai Hills, this temple’s exquisite architecture, finely carved sculptures and pillars are a sight for sore eyes. The temple is dedicated to Lord Diety and it is said that the Lord manifested himself as an element of fire here. Devotees and pilgrims come in large numbers to celebrate numerous festivals here, one of the most prominent ones being Karthigai Deepam - the festival of lamps, an auspicious symbol.

This festival is celebrated for nearly 11 days between October and November every year, with a large lamp at the top of the hill. This year too, the festival will be celebrated and 63 Nayanars Charitable Trust wants to ensure that the pilgrims and sadhus don’t remain empty handed.

63 Nayanars Charitable Trusts’ Noble Cause

Started by Raajasri Sundharasivam, 63 Nayanars Charitable Trust aims to ‘spread love by sharing food’. They provide food, water and shelter to devotees who come to the temple every day and on the day of the full moon. They serve devotees and sadhus with fresh food and have served over 50 lakh people so far.

“Lakhs of people from all over the world visit Tiruvannamalai to watch this great festival. They also go around the hill which is about 14 kilometers. Pilgrims undertake this path with great devotion to get the darshan of 8 special lingams, and it is our duty to serve them. We want to give all the pilgrims and sadhus here healthy meals and clean drinking water.” -  Raajasri Sundharasivam, Founder, 63 Nayanars Charitable Trust

Along with their service of annadhanam, 63 Nayanars Charitable Trust also conducts medical camps once a month to those in need, provides education to underprivileged children, offers financial, material and medical assistance to the needy and also helps in village development. Raajasri works tirelessly to ensure that people from lower economic backgrounds have access to what they need and deserve.

This Karthigai Deepam, Help Raajasri Feed Thousands

With many devotees expected at the temple this festive season, Raajasri wants to do everything in his capacity to help them and the sadhus. Unfortunately, the pandemic has made it difficult for him to continue his service.

“Before the pandemic we had regular donors who would support us every month. But this crisis changed so many things for so many people. People were not able to support us like they would, they have their own families to look after. So now I’m struggling to continue feeding the pilgrims and sadhus and need your help.”

With your support, Raajasri can get grocery kits to make fresh and healthy meals for hundreds during this auspicious occasion. Help him continue this selfless service.
