Project
My name is Mihika Mishra, Grade 11 Indian student in Germany. I am leading a team of students at my school to fundraise for provision of oxygen concentrators for the underprivileged in National Capital Region of Delhi in India. I am also a Girl Scout volunteering at an old age home, helping senior citizens who had suddenly been forced into almost complete isolation under safety restrictions following the pandemic. Although I reside far from India at the moment, I have kept myself informed of the progression of COVID-19 and the detrimental affect it has had on the Indian population. Now, I am raising funds to donate to Voice of Slum, who are helping provide COVID-19 aid to the underprivileged living in the slums of India.
Currently with additional stress on the health infrastructure, the underprivileged are facing challenges regarding access and affordability to proper medical care. Voice of Slum is actively helping deliver free medical supplies, specifically oxygen concentrators, to those who require it, either for themselves or for affected family members.
There is an unrelenting COVD-19 surge in India leading to shortages of resources, such as oxygen concentrators and cylinders, and the need for as much help as possible. As days pass, the cases rise to an amount larger than hospitals can hold, and therefore less access to help, leading to cases going unacknowledged. This surge in cases requires increasingly more medical attention and medical resources, of which oxygen concentrators are falling short. Overall, there is a need for more medical resources and funds to be allocated towards COVID-19 aid, and I wish to accumulate as many funds as possible. To achieve this, I will require support from as many people as possible, such as yourself.
All donations will have a massive impact, ultimately helping provide essential oxygen concentrators to those who are in desperate need.
About the NGO: Voice of Slum is an NGO based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It’s mission is to assimilate street children into mainstream society by providing them with quality education, exposure and access to opportunities. The NGO is run by those born in slums, who have been through it all. They now want to help other slum kids have a better life. They have helped thousands in the last year, during the pandemic. They wish to do the same this time with your help.
