“I’ve held three babies in my arms and buried each of them. I can’t lose Harni too. She’s all I have left.” – Hira, Harni’s mother.

Hira, a 25-year-old mother who has already experienced more pain than most people, sits in a small room of a hospital in Raipur where silence is more powerful than words. Her 3-month-old daughter, Harni, lies near her. Too weak to cry, exhausted to move, and too young to fully understand the battle her small body is fighting. Harni is not only a sick child. She's a miracle in waiting.

Harni, who was born with a liver ailment that causes her to vomit blood and fills her body with fluid, fights with each breath. The child's health is serious and requires an immediate liver transplant, which costs ₹25 lakhs. Hira, a labourer earning only ₹200 per day and relying on government food for survival, finds it difficult to overcome this struggle alone.

Hira's story is one of quiet, unimaginable endurance. She married at 15 by her family, was abandoned by her husband, and was forced to fend for herself with no family help. She has already buried three of her children, all sons, who died of liver failure. One died at six months, another at eleven months, and the third at four years. "We couldn't find a donor in time," she adds, her voice breaking under the weight of grief that words cannot describe.

And it's happening again. Her fourth child, Harni, faces the same destiny. Doctors have stated that a liver transplant is her sole chance for survival. But Hira's blood group does not match. They wait, frantically hoping for a deceased donor match. But waiting has a cost. Harni's condition worsens day by day. Hira is constantly on the verge of saying goodbye.

Despite everything, Hira has not given up. She carries Harni to hospitals, holds medications she can't afford to fill, and wipes the tears of a baby who is too weak to cry. She has no time to cry or no time to rest. Because Hira believes this is a race against time. And hope is all she has. Today, she needs your support. Every rupee you give takes her closer to the treatment that Harni so desperately requires. Every time she tells her story, a ray of hope shines through her darkest moments. No mother should have to bury her kid. And no child should be denied a chance at life due to financial constraints.

For example: if you made donations between April 2023 and March 2024 (FY 2023-24), you will get your 10BE by 31st May 2024, provided you need to claim the 80G for these donations.
