When Bhumika beat cancer in 2021, Doctors were ecstatic and told her parents to be stress-free as their 12-year-old could live her life like nothing ever happened; her cancer was gone. But their dreams came crashing down when the news of their daughter’s cancer relapse knocked on their door, leaving them shattered all over again.

Bhumika is suffering from a relapse of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a type of blood cancer.

She has to go through all of it, all over again

“Bhumika’s uncle had COVID, so we had to isolate her in another room. We noticed she got dull and didn’t speak much. We thought she is sad about being away but little did we know her blood count was going down and cancer was making her weak. Her blood count dropped dangerously to 4g, and we were scared we would lose her. The diagnosis shook us to the core, but we kept fighting, giving our all. She needs a bone marrow transplant to survive

B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells. This young girl underwent chemotherapy and now needs a bone marrow transplant to survive.

Bhumika’s parents and her 13-year-old brother are potential donors and will soon undergo tests to confirm the donor. But despite that, she’ll not be able to get a transplant as the family cannot afford the treatment on their own.

Treatment is out of reach for this middle-class family

Bhumika’s father, Rishi Kashyap is a farmer, and Sunita is a teacher. Together, they earn about 7L per annum, enough to happily lead a normal life. But things are not normal. Their daughter needs cancer treatment for the second time, and it will cost them more than 45L rupees, which is out of their means.

“Bhumika knows everything and has the will to get better, but it is we who are failing to afford the treatment. Whatever treatment our child has undergone was from borrowed money. We are already under 25L rupees in debt, which will take a lifetime to settle. We desperately need help to complete our little girl’s treatment. I want to take her home, healthy and recovered. I am afraid of losing her” - Sunita, mother

Sunita and Bhumika are miles away from home, getting the necessary treatment done, while Rishi is back in the village with their son, toiling, hoping to earn as much as possible to help with the expenses. But without your help, they can’t save Bhumika.

How to claim Tax-Exemption for my contributions on Donatekart?

After you complete your donation successfully, you will find the 'GET 80G' button on the payment success page. Please fill in your PAN number, complete address, and name as per PAN and submit. Your 80G certificate will be generated and sent via email within 24 hours.

Alternatively, you can get your 80G receipt in a few simple steps:

Log in to your account using the same email ID you used for the donation
Go to ‘My Donations’
Choose the financial year for which you'd like the donation certificate
Click on ‘Download 80G Certificate’
Fill out the Form (if required)
Submit the form and 80G will get downloaded instantly

Instead of receiving separate 80G certificates for each donation, you'll receive a consolidated 80G certificate via email covering all your donations made through our platform in the financial year. Further, The corresponding 10BE form that proves your eligibility for the tax deduction will also be consolidated. This way, you won't have to worry about multiple downloads and can save time.

How To Avail 10BE?

To qualify for tax exemption on your donations, you need to obtain a 10BE. This can be done by filing your 80G claims for donations made during the Financial Year (FY). You can download your 10BE from the‘My Profile’ section by 31st May of the next FY and also receive it via email.

For example: if you made donations between April 2023 and March 2024 (FY 2023-24), you will get your 10BE by 31st May 2024, provided you need to claim the 80G for these donations.

Please note that you cannot claim 80G for donations made between April 2022 and March 2023 (FY 2022-23) anymore as the window for claiming it has closed. However, you can still get the 10BEs for that year if you made 80G claims on or before 31st July 2023.

Why do we collect a tip amount ?
