Born To Them After 16 Years. This Couple Might Lose Their Newborn
“We waited for so long to be parents, and finally, after 16 long years, God answered our prayers. I was so happy and excited when I found out that I was going to be a mother. But now, my baby is struggling to survive in the ICU, struggling for each breath, and I can’t even touch him.” - Aruna, the mother, crying, feeling helpless
A routine check-up revealed complications in pregnancy
In her 6th month of pregnancy, Aruna went for a routine check-up when doctors told her that her cervix was weak and needed sutures. Despite the surgery and precautionary care, her blood pressure soon shot up to 160–180, and the baby wasn’t getting enough oxygen. The doctors had no choice but to deliver the baby early.
“Even after the minor surgery, I was confident things would be okay. But when they said we had to deliver now, I was terrified, the due date was still 3 months away!” - Aruna, mother
He looks so weak, tiny, and fragile
Born prematurely, the baby was shifted straight to the NICU. Weighing less than 800 grams, he needs oxygen support and constant monitoring.
“After the delivery, when I saw the baby, he looked so weak, tiny, and fragile. I was scared that I might hurt him if I even touched them. When I went back to Aruna, who was still recovering from the surgery, I didn’t know what to say. I couldn’t look at her and tell her what I saw. I couldn’t tell her that I was terrified of losing him.” - Jagdish, father
“I couldn’t see him for days, and when I saw him for the first time today, I couldn’t hold my tears. I was happy that I am a mother now, but looking at him struggling for each breath broke my heart. He was kept in a glass box attached to an oxygen supply with a bandage over his eyes. I can’t touch him or hold him to comfort the pain.” - Aruna, mother
They need NICU to survive, but the parents cannot afford it
A newborn baby usually weighs around 3 kgs, but the baby boy doesn’t even weigh 800 grams. The couple needs to stay in the hospital for at least the next 2 months till the organs develop and the baby fully recovers. They need to continue the treatment to survive, but the poor parents are unable to afford it anymore.
Jagdish works in a private organisation as an education administrator and earns 15 thousand rupees a month. But the NICU costs them 11000 rupees a day, which is way beyond their means. The entire treatment will cost them 8-9 L rupees, which they cannot afford.
Please help us save our child
“We struggled to be parents for years. We went for several treatments, and after so many years, God gave us a chance to be parents. But look at our fate, I feel so helpless that I am unable to protect my little one. With continued treatment, I can take him back home, but I am failing to. If anything happens to him, I’ll never be able to forgive myself. Please help us save our child.”- Jagdish, father
Your generous contribution can help this poor couple save their little boy.
