Abandoned By His Humans, This 7 YO Husky Needs Urgent Help To Survive

Smokey, a 7-year-old Husky, was found abandoned on the outskirts of Hubli, Karnataka. He was skin and bones, desperately thirsty, covered in maggots, and suffering from a painful oral hematoma. He had completely given up on life... until someone showed him love.

Rohan, an animal rescuer and founder of the NGO, Mission Zero Hubballi, found Smokey in this heartbreaking condition. Even though Smokey was in pain, the moment he saw Rohan, he responded to kindness. He jumped straight into his arms — as if he knew he was finally safe.

“Every week we come across such cases of pet abandonment. People buy dogs like Huskies as status symbols and then leave them when they get too hard to manage,” Rohan shares.

Rohan took Smokey home, where he already looks after 26 other rescued dogs. Despite his pain, Smokey finished two full packets of food in seconds — he was starving, both for food and for love.

Smokey has since undergone a surgery for the painful hematoma, but his journey to recovery is far from over. He now needs
