Have you ever given a thought for children who are left behind when their parents are sent to PRISON or what happens to the ones who are already living with their mothers inside Prisons? What do they go through? 

To give you a fair idea - No report, no research or no data show where these children go once their parents are incarcerated!

At India Vision Foundation (IVF) we take these children under our Education for Children of Inmates Project. Children of Vulnerable Families (CVF) project was started by India Vision Foundation in 1994. The primary aim and mission of this project was to mainstream & educate the innocent children of incarcerated families. These children usually end up being liabilities to their extended families and even close relatives due to many reasons. However, Children below 6yrs of age according to the Supreme Court ruling are allowed to stay with their mothers inside prisons. India Vision Foundation started a Crèche Project inside the prison so that the children are not subjected to foul language, behavior, habits and get a basic nursing education through play way methods. 

Most of the times their older siblings at home are usually subject to abuse, neglect, exploitation, and trauma, therefore, they come away from a quality childhood and are at a risk to get influenced and drawn towards the bad company. This further leads them into indulgence in nefarious activities. We have observed over a period of time that for many incarcerated families there is hardly any support from relatives – kith or kin due to the stigma and financial constraints to look after these children during their conviction/under the trial period. India Vision Foundation (IVF) takes these children (over 6 years) under its wings. We help them to complete their primary and basic education.  This paves a way for their education and vocational training through its Residential, Community & Home Support programs. The aim of India Vision Foundation is to help these children to be self-reliant and well-integrated members of society who will ultimately contribute to the welfare of the community/society. 

What a family means and how celebrations are done is something these children miss out. This campaign is about SPREADING SMILES to these lovely 200 children who are far away from their families. They often feel isolated and upset during festivals and miss their family a lot. With your little contribution to their CHRISTMAS JOY BOX you can be their Santa . These school kits and small stationary items can, not only make the new year look brighter but also help them throughout the year with these needful resources.
