Hope Welfare Trust Is Working Hard To Support Dengue Patients In UP, You Can Help

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

The last few days have been nothing short of tragic for the people of Uttar Pradesh. The state is  now reeling under the pressure of rising dengue cases, with Firozabad being one of the most affected areas. Thousands of people are struggling helplessly every minute of the day. Around 12,000 people are bedridden in Firozabad, while the death toll has climbed to 114 which includes 88 children.

The situation on the ground is very serious. We have been working day and night to help people in need but that is just not enough. In Firozabad, almost every other house has someone suffering from dengue. People are falling sick and they have no one to help them. So many children have succumbed to dengue already, we need to do everything we can to help the families here.” - Divyanshu, Hope Welfare Trust.

The pandemic has made the situation worse

Uttar Pradesh is home to sacred rivers and places of great religious and historical importance. It is known for its vibrant arts, crafts, dance and music. The ghats in UP’s cities are filled with those offering their prayers, washing away their sins or performing the last rites of their loved ones.

However, with the pandemic for the last two years, the subsequent lockdowns and then the recent floods have just made matters worse in the state.

Many people in the state haven’t had any income for months together now. And slowly and steadily they have been trying to get on their feet. But the floods and now the dengue has ruined all of that. These are people mostly from the lower income group - people, who have nothing left with them after spending on the medicines.”

Help Hope Welfare Trust save lives

An initiative by youngsters with a will to bring about a change in the society, especially rural India, Hope Welfare Trust started as a nascent movement from Varanasi in September 2015. A couple of students from various universities and colleges joined hands for rural development. The idea of Hope is to bring out sustainable development in Indian villages and involve women to play a key role.

They have worked relentlessly before and during the pandemic to help people in need by giving them groceries, oximeters, oxygen cylinders etc. They have also been helping the leprosy patients in Varanasi. Right now, they need your help to save hundreds suffering from dengue in UP.

“Hospital beds are not available and people are forced to stay at home. We want to help them as much as we can. We want to give them mosquito nets and groceries so that they can live a healthier life. It is difficult but together we can help them.We need your support, now more than ever.”

Before this disease claims many lives and the situation gets out of control, let us join hands and help Hope Welfare Trust to help people suffering from dengue in Uttar Pradesh. You can donate generously and help them with mosquito nets and groceries.
