Project
Global thought foundation believes in empowering by guiding. Our goal is to establish healthier, educated, empowered, and greener communities. For this, we work to improve accessibility and equality in our four focus sectors: Education, Women Empowerment, Healthcare, and Sustainable livelihood. We create and make available opportunities and services in our focus sectors to our beneficiaries. From the data collected on the field, we design and implement relevant need-based programs of social development. These projects include academic, vocational, and career guidance, healthcare awareness and services, entrepreneurial support.

When we first met Ragini, she was in sixth grade. She refused to speak in class, not to her teachers or her peers because she was afraid of being wrong. Any attempt to converse with her was met with nervous silence. Her lack of verbal engagement also hindered her ability to fully engage in learning in all of her classes. It took nearly two years to gradually remove the barriers she had erected. And to reassert her participation in the learning process.
Ragini's story is not out of the ordinary. A number of children, like her, have been systematically stigmatized by an education system that is quick to judge children and their abilities based on a very narrow set of criteria. These children struggle with confidence, independent thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, self-awareness, etc. Their ability to thrive in learning environments is frequently jeopardized. What these children most need are vibrant learning opportunities that embrace their distinct voices and celebrate their unique ideas.
We believe that all children deserve access to enriching learning opportunities that unlock their minds, engage their hearts, and ignite creative confidence. While the barriers to learning are very real, we also believe that if we make learning and its environments interactive, fun, and inclusive, more children will learn, and more importantly, shed inhibitions that restrict learning. To this end, Global Thought Foundation serves children, Grades 5 through 12, attending local Government Ashram and low-fee/aided schools. Through a year-long program, children attending these schools receive to facilitate meaningful learning that is hands-on, experiential, and inquiry-based.
The primary focus of Aapli Shalaa Project is carefully designed interventions to develop students’ capacities across 8 performance indicators, namely: problem-solving; creative and critical thinking; decision making; self-awareness; Interpersonal relationships; Empathy; Coping with stress and emotions; effective communication. These 8 skills and attitudes are integral to a student's holistic growth and development, and if nurtured consistently, have shown to positively impact their participation in school and learning in other domains. Through the Aapli Shala Project, workshops for teachers, school administrators, and parents are also conducted to build greater awareness around the role of life skills in education.
