Help The Members Of Enactus IIT Delhi Save India’s Gaushalas

There is no limit to what a group of dedicated and innovative students can achieve, and the members of Enactus IIT Delhi have proven that. A team of over 50+ students have come together to start a social initiative called Project Arth, whose purpose is not only to create eco-friendly logs for cremations but also to make gaushala’s financially sustainable in the process. Their mission is to empower cattle farmers and make gaushalas self-sufficient.

Cattle farming in India has seen almost no growth in recent years, and there are thousands of farmers who rely on this for their livelihood. They are neglected and hence, haven’t grown. Gaushalas are usually operated by a technologically backward workforce, who have been unable to get any beneficial modern equipment.

The Members Of Enactus IIT Delhi believe that the need of the hour is to ensure that these farmers have the right tools and machinery to make them financially sustainable. The solution? A machine that will help them use cow dung to make eco-friendly logs, diyas, dhoop sticks, sambrani cups, and fertilizer. They have already formulated an effective and 100% organic premix for making the items, and have designed and developed the machine to produce the cow dung based products. However, they can’t make enough to support new gaushalas without help. 

These students are all in - they not only want to provide these farmers with the machinery but also train them with the necessary technical skills, along with marketing and distribution of the products so that they can help them generate revenue. Using the otherwise wasted cow dung to make market-ready products is sustainable and a viable financial option for the farmers. 

While the members Of Enactus  IITD have been working hard towards their mission, they now need your help to provide the machine, molds, and premixes to new gaushalas to empower them with technology and generate employment for 600 rural women. 

So far, they have helped a number of gaushalas in India and created jobs for 30 women in the remote areas of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. With your support, they can change so many more lives. Help these students empower the cattle farmers of India and make them self-sufficient.
