Warm Hearts, Warm Showers: Bringing Comfort to Tribal children this Diwali!

In the picturesque town of Baihar, nestled amidst the vibrant culture of Madhya Pradesh, a humble hostel stands as a beacon of hope for around 100 tribal children, spanning from 1st to 8th standard, who travel from far-flung villages to receive education and shelter. The hostel, brimming with dormitories, washrooms, classrooms, and a delightful play area, resonates with the laughter and dreams of these young souls. However, amidst the warmth of community and care, there exists a chilling challenge.

In the biting cold of Baihar's winter, where temperatures plummet to 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, these resilient children brave icy cold baths due to the absence of water geysers in their hostel. The reason is not lack of compassion, but practical limitations, as heating rods pose a health hazard for the little ones. The Kind Citizen (TKC), a compassionate platform connecting volunteers and donors with NGOs across diverse causes, has witnessed this plight firsthand. Determined to make a difference, TKC has initiated a crowdfunding campaign to install water geysers in the hostel before the children return from their Diwali break on 20th November.
