Support Chai Lelo’s Relentless Efforts To Give Meals To Covid Patients And The Needy

Times are tough, but the people of India are tougher. Time and again we’ve seen immense resilience, kindness and empathy amid all the death and destruction around us. And this is what keeps us going.

Chai Lelo, a tea cafe chain in Delhi, has converted their kitchen to provide home cooked meals to covid patients and the underprivileged. In the last 15 days alone, they have served over 10,000 meals to people in need, and raised over 8000 meals in donations from across the world. Their efforts don’t end here - including delivering the food to the covid patient’s doorstep, they have also been donating meals to hospitals, resident associations and villages.

Delhi was among the most affected areas in India. Images from outside Delhi’s hospitals are heartbreaking. There are thousands of people struggling to get oxygen supplies, and thousands more struggling to get even a handful of food. Several daily wagers have lost their only source of income, and many of them have spent everything they had on getting a family member treated. Under these circumstances, affording a healthy meal is beyond their means.

Chai Lelo wants to continue their efforts in giving people free meals. But now they need your help. The grocery kits that you donate towards, will help Chai Lelo make fresh meals and distribute them for free to those in need. They’ve already helped hundreds of people in need, and can help so many more with your support.
