    Project

Let us tell you Pongo’s story. A loving and cheerful dog, Pongo was left alone on the railway tracks and by the time the rescue team arrived at the location, she was badly injured and her hind legs were crushed.

Our hearts broke when we saw this sight. But we were determined to save her and now, we are so happy to let you all know that Pongo is fine. Even though we had to amputate her two hind legs, she is still so joyful and literally leaps her way into your heart,” - Keerthan, Animal Rescue, Charlie’s Animal Rescue Centre (CARE), Bangalore.

Not everyone’s as lucky as Pongo. In fact, hundreds of stray animals are left to fend on the streets or are victims of merciless torture. For over 8 years now, the team at CARE has been working relentlessly to take care of these stray animals across Bangalore. They have a dedicated helpline, a professional veterinarian, and ambulances with the help of which they save many innocent lives. They now take care of around 300 dogs and other animals.

CARE - a place where the strays have found a forever home

Ms. Sudha Narayan is the Founder Trustee of CARE (Charlie’s Animal Rescue Care Center). She’s helped over 50,000 animals in the last 30 years. CARE is known to have the best trauma care centre in Bangalore. They’ve been helping thousands of injured animals recover from life-threatening conditions.

The animals that are most often brought into CARE OPD are more often than not in terrible shape. They suffer from prolonged neglect and are usually battling between life and death. Many of these animals also suffer from extremely low platelet counts, low haemoglobin counts and other essential parameters. For a successful recovery, they also need proper nutrition and diet.

Now the pandemic has made it even more difficult for the strays to survive on the streets of Bangalore. We have been amping up our rescue efforts but even then it is just not enough. We want to reach out to many more and help save them. We also want to expand our trauma centre and provide the best facilities. Even a small contribution from your side can make a huge difference,” - Sudha Narayan.

This is your chance to make a difference

Previously, over 1900 kind-hearted strangers had come together to help CARE fulfill its needs of medicines, food, and an ambulance. This time too, we urge you all to step up and help this rescue centre help many more animals in need by donating medicines, medical equipment, etc.

These are animals who have never known love and affection. With your help, each of these animals in need will have a shelter, nutritious food, and medicines to give them a better and healthy life. These abandoned strays need, please donate.
