    Project

Feeding the hungry, giving them food when they have been starving is one of the most noble tasks there is. Bolbala Trust, based out of Rajkot, Gujarat, is one such organization that has taken upon itself the task to feed the needy and the underprivileged.

Founded when Jayesh Upadhayay was only 16 years of age, Bolbala Trust was the brainchild of a few friends who came up with this idea after they came across an old woman who was in need of immediate care and had no one to help her. Jayesh Upadhyay and his friends helped her get the treatment she needed. And that was the start of something much bigger. Today Bolbala Trust feeds over 3000 meals daily to all those who can’t afford a single meal in a day.

How are they helping people in need?

Bolbala Trust has been actively serving the society for the last two and a half decades. The people working for the Trust are always trying their best to contribute to the welfare of society. With a goal of a healthy society, the trust stands for serving all those who need help.

I was very young when I started with this organisation. I had nothing more than 100 rupees in my pocket but I had faith in humanity. I knew slowly people would start believing in my cause and support me. Today, anywhere in and around Rajkot, Bolbala Trust has now become synonymous with eradicating hunger. I couldn’t be any prouder,” - Jayesh Upadhyay, Founder, Bolbala Trust.

    Their efforts during the COVID

Jayesh’s Trust has been spearheading a feeding drive during the pandemic - both during the first and the second wave. They have been feeding over 3700 villagers near Rajkot healthy, nutritious meals so that no one goes hungry.

The pandemic has been tough for everyone but especially for those who have lost their livelihoods. That’s why we decided to join hands with the nearby village heads and distribute cooked meals to all those in need. During the first lockdown, we also achieved a world record of serving the highest number of meals to the needy - around 20 lakh people,” - Jayesh.

You can lend a helping hand

The Trust serves governmental hospital’s patients by distributing fruits, biscuits, bread, milk and special service care for pregnant women through hygienic food. They have been regularly helping orphans, abandoned old people and those living in slums. True to their motto of serving others, they have always been at the forefront to help people during natural disasters.

But right now, the need has increased because of the times we are in right now. We want to reach out to as many people as we can, we don't want anyone to sleep on a hungry stomach. So we request you all to please come forward and donate groceries so that we can feed many more hungry mouths.”

Let us all join hands with Bolbala Trust in Rajkot to help them save many more helpless and underprivileged souls.
