Tarun Manav Is On A Mission To Eradicate Hunger, Help Him Give Free Meals To The Poor Amid The Crisis

Ann Patra India is a powerful initiative by Prerna Sewa Sansthan, a Ghaziabad-based NGO. Today, amid the crisis, they feed around 1000 people in various places across Ghaziabad, and also provide ration kits. These include people living on the streets, the underprivileged and Covid patients. 

How are they helping people in need?

Ever since the pandemic began last year, they have worked hard to ensure that they give free meals to as many people as possible. The first wave saw thousands being displaced. Prerna Sewa Sansthan was striving to ensure that through Ann Patra India, they could continue serving healthy and wholesome meals for the poor and underprivileged in various locations nearby bus stands, railway stations, government hospitals and slums.  

Right now, we are reliving the nightmare again. The second wave is here and it is even more dangerous. People are losing their loved ones, their livelihood, their savings are exhausted and some of them are even forced to beg for a morsel of food. Ann Patra India wants to do as much as possible for the ones in need. 

How was Ann Patra India formed?

It’s quite rare to see something so powerful, that it moves us deeply from within. Nine years ago, Tarun Manav saw a man begging outside a government hospital so that he could feed himself. This man had to spend everything he could to help treat his wife, he had nothing left over for himself. Tarun Manav was shocked to see the plight of this man.  

While this incident was heavily rooted in his heart, Tarun Manav and his mother started cooking for these vulnerable people who come all the way to the government hospitals for treatment and are left without any food. 

This led him to form Ann Patra India. Ann Patra India's mission is to eradicate hunger. Like every initiative, Ann Patra India also depends on humble contributions from generous donors. However, the last few months have been tough for them as they faced an immense lack of funds. Currently, they serve around 1000 people free meals in Ghaziabad and Hapur District every day, but with your help, they can do more.

Today they serve healthy and wholesome meals to over 1000 hungry or needy people in and around bus stands, railway stations, government hospitals and slum areas of District Ghaziabad and Hapur .Ann Patra India is working with dedication to set up big community kitchens in various cities to distribute meals free of cost and to ensure that no one remains hungry.
