A haven for those who have no one to look after them 

In the last decade, Rakesh and his team have rescued over 30,000 dogs from across India, bringing more than 5,000 of the most vulnerable to live out their lives at the VOSD Sanctuary in Bangalore. VOSD Trust is India's largest trust for stray dog welfare. VOSD is now a permanent home for 1,700 dogs who had no hope of surviving on the streets or getting adopted.

These aren’t just numbers. Every dog that finds its way to VOSD has a story—stories filled with pain, abandonment, and cruelty. But at VOSD, they find a place where they are loved and cared for. The sanctuary is their forever home.

A sanctuary like no other 

At VOSD, dogs roam free across 50+ enclosures with access to their very own hospital, a fleet of ambulances, and even agility parks and a jet-powered hydrotherapy pool. From dogs beaten mercilessly, blinded with acid, or hit by speeding vehicles, VOSD takes in the most hopeless cases and offers them a life they never dreamed of.

Even dogs that no other organization can rescue—India’s retired service dogs, or "Patriot Dogs" from the Karnataka Police, Railway Police, Kerala Police, and even the Indian Army—find a permanent home here.
