    Project Period Hygiene Camp

More than 10,000 sanitary napkins have been given to schoolchildren, visually challenged women, and rural women. After our campaign, the majority of women in rural areas began using sanitary napkins. We have planned to install sanitary vending machines in urban areas as well.

In most slum areas during COVID-19, we distributed sanitary napkins. The Aarudhra Women's Welfare Foundation reached out to women in rural areas, those who are visually challenged, and those living in slum areas during this pandemic with a period hygiene campaign and sanitary napkins. In India, 66% of girls are unaware of menstruation when their periods begin, and 88% of women lack access to sanitary napkins. When adolescent girls begin menstruating, 23% of them leave school.

The consequences are damaging at the very least, and at their worst, dangers as grave as cervical rare condition lurk. Only 36 percent of the women in India use sanitary pads during their periods. Even in 2023, menstruation, a normal biological process, is stigmatized, alienating menstruating women and pushing menstrual health under the Aarudhra women's welfare foundation. An initiative by the Period Hygiene Camp is organized with the aim of spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene and encouraging young girls among slum-dwelling Adivasi females.

We decide to inform the women who are unaware of sanitary napkins about the potential consequences of not using them, so they can protect themselves. We conducted a survey in a slum where most women and girls do not use sanitary napkins during their periods, despite the fact that they are unaware of what they are or how to use them.

We (Aarudhra Women's Welfare Foundation) have done our period hygiene campaign and made them aware of the use of napkins. We ask people to join hands and come together to support our mission to make girls and women aware of the importance of hygiene.

About the NGO: We strive for social justice, women's protection, women's welfare, and women's education and empowerment. the development of children Training in self-defense gives women more control over menstrual hygiene and acid attacks.
