Aahardaan Foundation Needs Your Help To Save Hundreds Being Affected By Maharashtra Floods

Sangli and Kolhapur districts in Maharashtra are severely affected by flash floods, heavy rains and water discharge from dams. Ankali, Bilawdi, Sakharwadi, Malwadi, Chopadewadi, Vitthalwadi, Surygaon etc. these are highly affected areas Thousands of families living in the vicinity of rivers and in low level areas have been asked to migrate. Large number of families were unprepared and now they do not have their own place to stay. 

People have left their homes carrying the bare minimum clothes and food, but the food supply they are carrying is very limited for a day or two.

There are many places which are disconnected from electricity, communication and internet networks. The economically weak communities are suffering the most with no one to look after them. 

Aahardaan Foundation wants to help them with food supplies

The current reports are just the initial ones and the situation is feared to get worse.While the water will begin to recede in 4-5 days, it is still unclear how long it will take for it to go completely. Even after that, they will have to struggle with rotten crops. Hence, these villagers are losing hope by the hour.

Aahardaan Foundation, an NGO based out of Maharashtra is setting up cooked food desks. They are in immediate need of food supplies like rice, dal, oil, spices etc to start feeding good food to people. The foundation team works in coordination with local NGOs, Government Response teams and Volunteers to ensure delivery of food packets to the needy.

They will also be providing dry ration kits to areas where cooked meals can’t be distributed.
