Help Voice of Slums Provide 4000 Meals Per Day Amidst COVID-19!

It’s a tough time for everyone in the world right now, especially for the essential workers. These workers are reliant on their daily wages to be able to feed their families. They eke out their living by carrying out tedious and back-breaking work to be able to provide for their families. On days that they work, they struggle to eat two square meals per day. The poor are now falling deeper into poverty as they struggle to find ways to provide for themselves.

Many migrant workers have been kicked out of their makeshift homes. Many of them have no means to cook even if you supply them with raw materials. 

Dev, co-founder of Voice of Slum knows the plight of these families in need. Dev grew up in the slums and has worked hard for the betterment of the families in the slums. He dedicated his life to bring change to the community.

"So many of us live from one day to the next. We clean houses and help them every single day. Today, no one thinks we are worth anything.", 

said Renuka, a household helper.

Voice of Slum has been providing grocery kits to these families in need. The staff and volunteers have also been practising social distancing and several precautions. Through their distribution drives, they’ve also been bringing about awareness in the community. 

Now they have started two kitchens in Noida to provide 4000 meals per day for lunch and dinner. This will help families who are in desperate need of food.
