Hello Everyone! My name is Rina and I am 12 years old. I live in one of the Udayan Ghars along with 11 other girls who are like my sisters. My father abandoned our family when I was a baby and left us in financial ruin. My mother was unable to financially sustain us and as a result, I reached Udayan Ghar. Since then, my life has changed for the better and my mentors, my caregivers as well as my sisters at home are my family now.
With the world battling Corona Virus for 2 years, Udayan Care has kept me and my siblings safe while providing us with care and protection and following government-guided hygiene practices under the supervision and love of our in-house careers. My sisters and I have always been encouraged by our mentors and caretakers to take care of our health as well as inculcate the habit of eating nutritious food which will further contribute to our overall growth. In these unprecedented times, eating nutritious food is all the more necessary to further boost the immunity against the deadly virus that has made the whole world stand STILL. Therefore, I reach out to you to support us in this campaign by donating dry ration for our nutritional needs. These will be shared with all my siblings across 17 Udayan Ghars with 210 children.
About Udayan Care: Udayan Care aims to bring sunshine into the lives of underserved sections of society that require intervention. Registered in 1994, as a Public Charitable Trust, Udayan Care works to empower vulnerable children, women, and youth in 29 cities across 15 states of India.
Based on the belief that a loving home and family is the right of every child, Udayan Ghars are long term residential homes that nurture children without parental care, in a simulated family environment through a strategy called L.I.F.E – Living In Family Environment. Udayan Care also encourages girls to continue their higher studies by providing them with financial and developmental support and at the same time, emphasizing children’s safety, happiness, personal hygiene, nutrition, and health. Furthermore Udayan Care’s Information Technology & Skill Centres provide vocational training to under-served youth and adults to improve their livelihood options.
