Winter is here. It's a very cozy time of the year for most of us. We have our blankets and sweaters. Sadly, there are many children who unnecessarily suffer in the cold. Most times, they catch a cold which eventually leads to fever. All this can be easily prevented. All you have to do is donate a sweater and you'll be protecting child. The children from the following NGOs will benefit from initiative:
Sphoorti foundation:
SPHOORTI is a non-profit organization working for underprivileged children - orphaned, abandoned, destitute and other vulnerable groups. Their mission is to change the lives of such children - by providing them with long-term care. This includes basic needs, education and healthcare, and the skills necessary to transform them into responsible citizens.
They are based in Dundigal, outskirts of Hyderabad. 160 of our children stay in a 25000 sq ft facility We also have a separate facility for cooking and dining. Forty of their children in STD XI and above stay in various residential colleges in Hyderabad.
Global AID:
Global Ability in Disability - Global AID: Global AID is a non-profit organization based in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram Districts of Andhra Pradesh, India. Global AID, brainchild of Sai Padma, Founder President and Pragna Anand, Founder Secretary was established to explore and identify hidden abilities in differently abled persons, persons with disabilities, nurture, improve and develop them with professional and personal care, ultimately empowering them. Their mission is to provide accessibility to all and to see a healthy world around by reaching the end mile.
Asha Jyothi:
Asha Jyothi Handicapped Welfare Society is a registered Non-Government Organization, established in 1998 in Hanuman Junction, Andhra Pradesh with the mission to provide diverse services for development, education, and rehabilitation of children with mental and physical disabilities. Their center children are primarily abandoned challenged orphans with a few from Underprivileged background. They strongly believe that all children have a right to love and security, healthy food, decent shelter, good education to reach their optimum potential, adequate medical care and be protected from any form of abuse.
Asha Kuteer:
Asha Kuteer Children Home is a non-profit organization located in the outskirts of Hyderabad with 51 kids(24 boys, 27 girls). Most of the orphanages only serve the basic needs of orphans , but in Asha Kuteer deals with both basic needs & emotional health.
Diya Ghar:
Diya Ghar is a safe haven for children of migrant workers in Bangalore. The organization’s team of seven visits settlements of construction workers, and interacts with parents. They enroll children from families who have lived in the area for at least two years and plan to stay on for a couple of more years. 50 kids from Diya Ghar sent their wishes for the festive season.
