Educate a Child, Enrich a Life – Donate an Educational Kit

India's educational crisis is two-fold when compared to other countries. Many students do not make it through the system because of poverty. But, education is the only way out for them.

According to the 2007 World Bank Study, India had 7 million school children who started primary school and one in every three children dropped out before they reach fifth grade. Among the ones who didn't drop out, most have skills that are 2-4 years behind their grade level.

The main reason for children dropping out of school is their inability to afford education. Coming from poor families, they are stopped from going to school in the hope of earning daily wages.

Voice of Slums, an NGO established to serve slum children, aims to provide quality education to street children. Believing that excellent education is a combination of academics, nutrition, exposure, values and morals; VoS act as a major source of hope for the low-income group students.

In the longer run, VoS wants to build themselves as an ever-growing organization for slum children. Informed by the insights and experiences, they want to work from inside and also outside the educational system to provide the fundamental educational opportunity for all the children in the slums.

Dev and Chandni, who founded VoS, have been trying their best to ensure that the classrooms can provide the needed skills to create a collective impact on these poor children. But to make it more exponential, they need your help. Donate an Educational Kit to a student at Voice of Slums, so that they can be equipped with everything they need for smooth education. Help them take control of their lives.

FAQs
Donatekart is India's one of a kind platform that enables donors to directly donate products to NGOs/charities online instead of money. In the last 3 years since our inception, we have been able to help 650+ NGOs all over India raise close to 9 crores worth of products. 80,000+ unique donors have used our platform to donate to charities of their choice. As a donor, you are guaranteed 100% transparency - after you donate your products, you will be sent an update from the beneficiary.
Donatekart is a social enterprise and not a NGO on our own, we act only as a technology platform where donors can send supplies to charities instead of giving money directly to them. The supplies donors bought on Donatekart will be procured from our vendor partners and delivered to the NGOs. This is similar to someone going to an offline store to purchase material and then giving it to the NGO. As Charities receive supplies not money they can't give you tax exemption for these transactions. However, we do understand the concern and working on the solution to give 80 G to all the donors contributing via Donatekart.
All these NGOs are registered and are highly reputed in their areas of service. You can visit them and talk to them in person if you desire. Please write into us at info@donatekart.com and we'll provide you with all their contact details.
As a part of our policy, it is mandatory for NGOs to send you the donor regular updates. Once the campaign, we request you to wait for a few days for us to be able to deliver the products. Within a month, you should receive an update in the form of pictures and videos from the NGO.
