Project
Satyam Dietym Sundaram Gau Nivas is South India’s biggest gaushala, located on three acres of land in Hyderabad and home to over 5000 cows. These cows, after going through a world of pain, have found a safe place where they can be healthy and happy all thanks to Dharam Raj Ranka. Dharam Raj Ranka (81), once a jeweller, has dedicated his life to the service and protection of cows. His commitment to the cause goes beyond just setting up gaushalas, he is actively involved in the day to day activities and ensures that every cow is given the best care.
Dharam Raj Ranka Jain has fought this atrocity by helping these docile animals with shelter and fodder. What started out as a small effort with 200 cows to save these docile creatures is now home to thousands of cows. Satyam Dietym Sundaram Gau Niwas, the largest cow shelter in Southern India is home to almost 6000 + cows. Mr. Dharam says, “Let us return the cow its rightful place culturally, religiously and economically.”
While things have slowly started to look up but Dharam Raj Ranka and his team are struggling to feed their cows. The people who would usually donate fodder, couldn’t help any longer. Your contribution will ensure that these abandoned and injured cows get fresh fodder and live a healthy life. They have been given a second chance at life and don’t deserve to spend their days starving.
About Satyam Dietym Sundaram: Satyam Dietym Sundaram Gau Nivas is a shelter for rescued cows, founded by Mr. Dharam Raj Ranka, a city jeweller from Hyderabad. Since 1991, it has been his mission to protect cows from illegal slaughter houses, and he has rescued and rehabilitated over 5000 cows in his shelter so far. This cow shelter aims to provide a happy life to the rescued cows. They are well looked after, given due medical attention and fodder. The shelter even has a working staff of over 100 people and 2 resident veterinarians to look after these innocent animals.
