DAVO WAS STARTED BY DEV GOSWAMI WITH AN AIM TO FEED THE HOMELESS

Dev Goswami was born into a poor family in a small village in Haryana. One day Dev was stranded at a railway station and hadn't eaten for 2 days. He was hardly surviving by asking people on the train for money to eat. When he asked someone for a puri at a stall the person yelled back and abused Dev. This experience hurt him deeply and he decided that he will eventually provide food to as many hungry people as possible some day.

DAVO NOW PROVIDES FOR 220 HOMELESS OLD PEOPLE

Later in 1978, when he was working as a truck driver, he was moved by the sight of homeless and hungry people on the road who reminded him of his own struggle. He took these people home, gave them a good haircut and provided them with nourishing food. That was when he decided to quit his job and feed the homeless. He slowly started bringing more desolated people home and taking care of them. His wife Tara also joined him in his mission and decided to devote her life to the cause. Both of them together have been relentlessly carrying out services for over 220 homeless since 1984.

Most of these inmates are sick when they’re brought in and need medical support. Dev and Tara are trying their best to provide for their medical expenses but are still in need of financial support.
