Education is a powerful tool to alleviate poverty and empower society. Dakshana is a non-profit organisation working towards alleviating poverty through education by helping under-privileged students of rural India prepare for IIT and Medical entrance tests.
Dakshana offers a two-year scholarship program in conjunction with the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas under an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the MHRD, Government of India at 7 schools across India and a one-year residential scholarship program independently at its campus in Pune.
Since inception, Dakshana has impacted over 18,000 lives. Dakshana’s mission is to deliver world-class education opportunities for exceptionally gifted children from impoverished backgrounds in India.
Currently 1,000+ scholars are preparing for IIT and Medical entrance exams at the 8 campuses across India. Many are employed by leading Indian companies and multinationals. Some are even pursuing graduate studies overseas.
We have about 300+ scholars studying at our residential campus in Pune. We need groceries and stationary kits for them so that they are able to receive the required nourishment to focus fully on their studies and preparations.
