This year has to be the toughest times any of us had to go through. 2020 was not filled with happiness or new vibes like we all planned when the new year dawned on us. However, there are plenty of amazing things that we can be thankful for. We have food, comfort, and a warm home. We don’t have to worry about tomorrow’s meal.
However, there are thousands of homeless, elderly, destitute, and young children out on the streets. These underprivileged individuals have little or nothing to look forward to. They’re lost in the darkness of poverty and are struggling to make ends meet.
While a child struggles to understand when she’ll be able to go to school, there’s a mother struggling to think of where the next meal will come from. While there’s a father worried about having no job, there’s an elderly person struggling to find a blanket.
This is where you come in. You can give these people a new beginning, and a ray of hope.
Here’s how you can help:
Donate a grocery kit: This kit can help a family eat proper nutritious meals for the next two weeks.
Donate Blankets: These blankets can help a homeless person, a child, or the elderly fight through this harsh winter. They can stay warm and can have a better life.
Donate a sweater: A sweater and a monkey cap can help children keep themselves warm. These gentle souls need all the warmth they can get so that they can brave this winter.
Donate an Education Kit: For many children education is not a necessity but a privilege. They come from families where the parents have little or no formal education. You can help these children by donating an education kit to help them study.

Omashram Old Age Care is a charitable trust founded in the year 2001 with the objective of providing care and success to the old. Omashram provides residential care with full boarding & lodging facility to the old with medical care nursing care to the old, belonging mostly to poor & middle-class individuals (above 60 years of age) of all denominations. At Omashram Old Age Homes we have above 75 old, neglected souls being cared for.
Be the Change Bethechange is an NGO whose vision and mission is to empower youth to solve Global Problems related to Sustainable Development. They collect good and hygiene excess food from the functions and gatherings, and distribute it to the community where people are short of quality meals on daily basis. Be the change also create awareness in schools, offices, public spaces and in community about food wastage and food management.
Akshaya-vidya An Educare program aimed at the comprehensive development of students living in urban slums. Since 2013, more than 4000 students have been given quality education with human values integrated. Evening tuitions are organized in slums from Monday to Saturday with the help of educated and trained volunteers from the same locality. Currently, 90 AV centers are run in Hyderabad, 30 in Kadapa and 14 in Tirupati. Akshaya Vidya (Urban) work includes Strengthening basics in languages, mathematics, and human values from the core curriculum. Celebration of National festivals, exposure to inspirational talks, etc are supplementary activities.
Diya Ghar Diya Ghar is a safe haven for children of migrant workers in Bangalore. The organization’s team of seven visits settlements of construction workers, and interacts with parents. They enroll children from families who have lived in the area for at least two years and plan to stay on for a couple of more years.
Asha Kuteer We started off as a non-profit organization in January 2013 and right now have 45 abandoned and orphaned kids under our care. Based out of Hyderabad, we have two homes for boys and one home for girls all around the same locality. While we aim at providing food, shelter, education and medical care to the kids, we imply more on giving them the emotional support they deserve. Hope is being able to see light at the end of the tunnel. We ensure our kids’ approach life with hope every day.
The Sara THE – SARA’ is a Jammu & Kashmir based Registered Non-Profit Organization working on Suicide Prevention & Crisis Support. Their Mission Compassion wing provides basic healthcare and free education to children.
Making the Difference Making the Difference was established in 2014 by Mr Meet Vishwakarma. It's an NGO formed with an aim to serve the needy & underprivileged communities. The NGO has been working relentlessly during this time of crisis to serve people from various sections of society. For this campaign, they have identified thousands of street vendors in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai who have been hit hard by the pandemic this year.
