    Project

M Sai Vignesh was only 7 years old when he started feeding stray animals, and 15 when he started rescuing them during the 2015 Chennai floods. Today, he’s 22 and stands tall against countless challenges that come his way every day. His work of rescuing and rehabilitation animals like dogs, cats, cows, bulls, buffaloes and more has led to many people threatening and even attacking him. But this young changemaker has not given up.

“The only thing that keeps me going through all of this are the animals. When they look at me, I know they trust me, so I won’t stop fighting for them. The abuse and pain they go through are nothing compared to the threats I receive. I will do everything in my power to protect them.” - M Sai Vignesh, Founder, Almighty Animal Care Trust

Vignesh started the Almighty Animal Sanctuary under the Trust in 2019 in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu with the support of kind-hearted animal lovers and his parents, who sold their ancestral property to support Vignesh’s mission. What started as a safe home for abandoned, sick and injured dogs soon opened its doors to every and any animal in need.

Vignesh Has Rescued Over 1500+ Animals So Far

“My life changed in 2015. During the devastating floods in Chennai, I saw so many injured and helpless animals. I didn’t know how I could help them, but my heart told me to save them. I took dogs, puppies and birds home and eventually got them treated as well. Once they recovered I ensured that they got adopted. That was when people started calling me to help other animals in need, and I did whatever I could for them. My grandfather supported the rescues with his monthly pension until he died in 2018. And now I’m carrying on his legacy.”

The sanctuary has over 205 animals currently, and Vignesh has saved over 1500+ animals over the years. He ensures they are treated, fed and well looked after. Many cats and dogs have also been adopted thanks to his efforts. However, getting food and medicines for these animals continues to be a struggle.

“I’ve seen a cow and her calf being brutally murdered before my eyes. I will never forget that in my life. So no matter which animal comes to us, we always take them in and fight for their rights. Sometimes I worry about where we’ll get the extra food or medicine from, it’s been a challenge for years now and with the pandemic it only increased. But with support from people like you, we won’t have to worry about this again.”

Help This Young Changemaker Save Many More Voiceless Souls

Vignesh is a Civil Service Aspirant and a freelance web developer who uses all the money he gets to look after the animals at the sanctuary. Besides this, he relies on the support of kind-hearted donors. However, it isn’t enough. There are so many more animals to be rescued, and the resources he has access to just aren’t enough.

Vignesh needs your support to get an ambulance, animal food and medicines so that he can rescue, feed and treat all the helpless, injured, abused and abandoned animals. Your support will ensure that hundreds of animals are safe from cruelty.
