Once A Businessman, Sureshbhai Is Now Feeding 1400+ People Who Are Too Poor To Afford Fresh Meals

Sureshbhai’s name is recognised with much love and reverence by everyone in and around Bhabhar, Gujarat. For over five years now, this man has been the source of happiness and relief for thousands of people who are too poor to afford a single meal. He gives them freshly cooked meals daily and a reason to continue with their lives. But there was a time when Sureshbhai was going through a lot of trouble in his life - he wasn’t sure if he would be able to feed his own family.
Sureshbhai was a successful businessman but in 2000 he incurred heavy losses. The situation was dire. He had to let go of all his belongings and start from scratch.
“That was the first time I understood the daily struggles of a common man. We always had food on our plates and a roof over our heads. And now my sons were sleeping hungry, I even lost my wife. This served as a wake-up call to me. I knew God wanted me to acknowledge my gifts and do something for those who have no one in this world,” - Sureshbhai, Founder, Shree Annapurna Charitable Trust.
After working really hard and paying off all his debts, Sureshbhai dedicated his life to the service of the poor and the underprivileged. Since 2018, he has been feeding 250+ people all day long in the community kitchen set up in Bhabar. Over the years, he has also arranged for 5 vehicles and a team of volunteers who help him feed over 1200 hungry souls in the villages nearby.
“We cook the food with a lot of love and ensure that it reaches them in a hygienic manner in steel dabbas that we collect during our evening rounds. So many people have told us that our food is the reason they’re alive to this day. Most of them are aged, abandoned, challenged, and orphaned. I want to continue this seva and help those in need.”

This feeding program is their only hope, their reason to live on. Sureshbhai overcame many hurdles in his life and like a self-made man, stood tall on his feet with his own effort. Now he is a saviour of the poor.
