Story of the campaigner
66% of girls in India don’t even know about menstruation when they first start their period.
88% of women in India do not have access to sanitary pads.
23 % of adolescent girls drop out of school when they start menstruating.
Our goal at Yug Foundation, Pune is to convert Pune into a hundred percent sanitary pad using City. We want to help girls get rid of the shackles that misinformation and taboos put on them.
As part of our #giveherconfidence program, we distribute a year’s supply of sanitary napkins to girls across Pune, and conduct awareness sessions to tell them more about their bodies, and what makes the process of menstruation so beautiful.
