Please Help To Create Better World For Animals

Hi ! I'm Vanika Chadha from Delhi, India. I feed 170+ stray dogs of old delhi and take care of their treatment, vaccination and Sterilization also. I rescue critically injured, rare condition suffered, kidney liver damaged, accidental , paralyzed, animal cruelty cases and sick animals of Delhi. Being a girl do all rescues, treatments and feeding alone regularly in a large area of Old Delhi specially where no one else takes care of these poor souls. Neither I belong to any NGO nor I have any helper, team or shelter.    

In this area dogs are either beaten badly, poisoned or abused further. I boldly take care of their medical care and feeding too from my own pocket. I have sterilized female dogs of large areas also for their better future and health and keep on doing so because I have faced so many cases of parvovirus and distemper in bulk, their treatment cost is so much high for each pup. This is accident prone area so I face many critical accident cases continuously and also animal cruelty cases too.

There are many old dogs who have kidney and liver issues but due to lack of funds I am unable to send them to a safe place where they could get proper treatment and care in old age. Rescued many  rare condition suffering dogs also from different areas of Delhi. I am jobless from 22 march 2020 ( last lockdown). I don't have any source of income. I have spent 5 to 6 lakhs of my savings on feeding, treatment and rescues from last year.

I got bills of more than 1 lakh in just the last 2 months for my rescues. I don't have a source of income or funding. Before lockdown 22 March 2020 I used to feed and take care of only 20 dogs when I was doing my job but when I lost my job and the whole world was in a pandemic, I realised how difficult it is now for strays to survive. As the Corona epidemic hits every part of our country from last year, somehow I see street dogs getting affected the most.The streets are deserted, eateries shut, and there are no scraps to scavenge anymore. As humans, we have the luxury of being indoors with at least the supplies that will last for a few days if not weeks, whereas these dogs don't have anything to sustain themselves till the lockdown is over.  

So, I decided to feed and rescue as many as I can and now my strays family has more than 170 + dogs including pups and senior dogs also. I don't leave any animal dying in pain on the road who needs me . I also spend large amounts for ambulances payments, treatments, foster, blood tests and X-rays apart from  spending a lot for feeding animals per month approx  40,000rs  for feeding only. I was doing all the rescue, treatment and feeding from my savings. I already spent all my savings beyond my limits. Now I am finding myself helpless due to no funds left with me.

How will this fundraising help the animals in need and help bring a change.

As you all know, rescues are not easy for common volunteers like me. First of all I need to arrange a private ambulance for every rescue because there are very few ambulance Service in Delhi for emergency services which cost 1500 rs to 2000 rs because govt. Ngo don't send help.After that I have to pay blood test charges which cost 1800 rs to 2000 rs or X Ray in case of accident which cost rupees 500 rupees to 1000rs then  I have to arrange monthly treatment and boarding charges which cost hundred rs per day to 200 rs per day which means charges for one rescue for one month comes to around 7000 rs to 10,000 rs which is not easy to arrange for a common volunteer like me.Through this fund I will be able to rescue all critical, abused, abandoned, injured or helpless animals instantly without having tension of funds for sometime and will be able to send them to boarding for proper care and attention and best treatment as well. I also could feed them without interruption.

As you all know, blood tests are very expensive and the cost of boarding and treatment is beyond my limits so it becomes difficult for me to handle this now. This fund will be helpful for the poor souls who are waiting for help. I want to help all injured, helpless, abused and abandoned animals and want to make a change for them.I also need help in buying readily available food items such as rice, eggs, porridge, bread, milk, curd, and wet food packets for street dogs. This was the worst phase in the lives of street dogs but I know they will make it till the end with the support from our amazing community. As an individual involved in animal welfare, I completely rely on my donors to sustain my efforts and prefer to keep it as transparent as possible.
