It is mentioned in the ‘Tiruvai Mulhi’, a local purana that the celestial ruler of the seven hills was known for his love for flowers and floral decorations at his abode throughout the year.

The temple chief priest Sri Ramana Dikshitulu says that on any single day the majestic idol of the deity in the Srivari temple is decorated with nearly 100 feet length of flower garlands. Even though TTD grows flowers in their own gardens, a lot of people send flowers to the Lord as a token of devotion and till now there are no proper means to send these flowers from anywhere in the world.
