Support 5,000+ Families Affected by Leprosy to Live With Dignity

    Project

Imagine recovering from an illness, only to find that your struggles aren’t over. Even when the body heals, society turns away. Job opportunities vanish. Children are refused entry into schools. Neighbours avoid conversation.

This is the everyday reality for thousands of families touched by leprosy in rural India.

They have overcome the illness, but the social barriers still hold them back. Society doesn’t let them move forward.

This is what Baba Christ Das witnessed in 1984 on the dusty streets of Raxaul, Bihar, near the India-Nepal border. Moved by compassion, he founded the Little Flower Leprosy Welfare Association, a place where those excluded could find respect, care, and the means to rebuild their lives.

What started as a small shelter has now grown into a lifeline for over 5,000 people in 22 settlements.

For many in these communities, life remains a constant challenge. Social discrimination keeps them isolated. Steady work is difficult to find. Essentials like nourishing food, regular medical care, and quality education are often out of reach.

Little Flower addresses these needs through a complete support system:

Nutritious monthly groceries tailored to cultural preferences and dietary needs.

Little Flower’s programs focus on restoring dignity and creating lasting change for leprosy-affected communities. Women’s well-being initiatives provide hygiene kits and awareness sessions, promoting both health and understanding. Children receive education support through books, stationery, tuition assistance, and encouragement to dream of a brighter future. Accessible medical services ensure that patients have wound care kits, antibiotics, mobility aids, and regular follow-up visits from trained local health workers.

One inspiring story is of a young girl from Sundarpur colony who was once denied schooling because of her family’s background. Today, with study support from Little Flower, she is pursuing higher education and training to become a nurse determined to serve the very community that once excluded her.

    Why Your Support Matters

The road ahead is still challenging; limited resources, remote locations, and long-standing social barriers make the work difficult. But with more support, Little Flower can reach additional families, improve access to training, and create more stories of empowerment.

Your kindness can help replace exclusion with belonging, uncertainty with opportunity, and hopelessness with renewed purpose.

By contributing, you can help over 5,000 individuals and their families live with dignity, stability, and hope for a fuller life.

    FAQs

Donatekart is India's one of a kind crowdfunding platform that allows donors to directly donate towards products that are required by the NGO. In the last 5 years, we have partnered with 1400+ NGOs all over India to raise 150+ crores worth of products. More than 5 lakh unique donors have used our platform to donate to charities of their choice. As a donor, you are guaranteed 100% transparency - after you donate towards the products, you will receive an update from the campaigner.

After you complete your donation successfully, you will find the 'GET 80G' button on the payment success page. Please fill in your PAN number, complete address, and name as per PAN and submit. Your 80G certificate will be generated and sent via email within 24 hours.

    3. Choose the financial year for which you'd like the donation certificate
    4. Click on ‘Download 80G Certificate’
    5. Fill out the Form (if required)

Further, The corresponding 10BE form that proves your eligibility for the tax deduction will also be consolidated. This way, you won't have to worry about multiple downloads and can save time.

To qualify for tax exemption on your donations, you need to obtain a 10BE. This can be done by filing your 80G claims for donations made during the Financial Year (FY). You can download your 10BE from the‘My Profile’ section by 31st May of the next FY and also receive it via email.

For example: if you made donations between April 2023 and March 2024 (FY 2023-24), you will get your 10BE by 31st May 2024, provided you need to claim the 80G for these donations.

Please note that you cannot claim 80G for donations made between April 2022 and March 2023 (FY 2022-23) anymore as the window for claiming it has closed. However, you can still get the 10BEs for that year if you made 80G claims on or before 31st July 2023.
