The River Kosi, often called the “Sorrow of Bihar”, has once again brought severe devastation across the northern plains of the state. Continuous rainfall and the rising water level of the river have caused widespread flooding in the Kosi basin.
More than 1.5 million people have become homeless, and over 3 million farmers have lost their standing crops, especially paddy. Their fertile lands, homes, and livelihoods are now submerged under water.
In these testing times, Shanti Gramin Vikas Trust Samiti stands firmly with the people of Bihar, reaching out to flood victims with emergency relief and long-term rehabilitation support. Our mission is not only to provide temporary assistance but also to help families rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
To ensure proper distribution and transparency, our flood relief campaign is divided into five major categories (V Category Relief Plan), each focusing on specific needs of affected communities:
Category – V1: Food Relief Assistance

Thousands of displaced families are struggling even for one meal a day. Under this category, we are providing two daily meals, clean drinking water, and basic food kits to flood victims.
A contribution of just ₹100 can ensure nutritious meals for two people for one day.
Category – V2: Shelter & Living Support
More than a million homes have been destroyed or washed away. Families are forced to live in open spaces or temporary tents.
Your contribution in this category helps provide tarpaulins, tents, blankets, utensils, and essential household items, giving families a sense of safety and comfort in these difficult times.

Category – V3: Agricultural Rehabilitation Support
Over 30 lakh farmers have lost their crops, seeds, and tools. This category focuses on helping farmers rebuild their livelihoods by providing seed packets, fertilizers, tools, and financial aid for re-cultivation. Together, we can help farmers smile again and restart their journey toward self-reliance.

Category – V4: Women’s Safety & Health Assistance
Women in flood-affected areas face serious challenges — from lack of hygiene facilities to inadequate access to medicines and clothing.
Through this category, we are distributing sanitary napkins, hygiene kits, essential medicines, and clothing to protect their health and dignity.

Category – V5: Child Protection & Nutrition Support
Children are the most vulnerable in any disaster. Many have lost their schools, books, and basic nutrition.
This category provides milk powder, biscuits, nutritious food, school kits, clothes, and blankets to ensure children remain safe, healthy, and hopeful.
This campaign is not just a relief drive — it is a symbol of humanity, compassion, and collective responsibility. Every rupee you donate becomes a lifeline for a struggling family. Whether it’s ₹100 or ₹10,000, your contribution can bring warmth, food, and hope to the lives of flood victims.
