We work on the Sustainable development Goals of the United Nations namely Quality Education, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well being, Decent work and Economic Growth and Partnerships for Goals.
In the last three and half years we have been experimenting and trying out different ways to socially innovate in the Tier2&3 cities of Karnataka whether it be a simple process of collecting food from hotels/ function halls to Improving quality of education in rural areas we have been able to see a gradual change.
We have been working with 32+ Govt. Schools by training the school teachers, conducting classes for students and providing them teaching aids to enhance the quality education. A few points to highlight
1. Established 32+ libraries in Govt. schools with a strength of over 400+ children with upcyled books, general knowledge, Grammar, Kannada/English/Hindi literature books and Handmade Teaching materials and print rich Materials.
2. 3000+ hrs of teaching with students in Govt. Schools and orphanages.
3. 50+ volunteers involved in teaching school children various concepts via interactive teaching aids. To make our practices and methods more sustainable we taught the volunteers to build training materials like charts, playway materials for practical teaching etc..
4. We supported all the children and their families by providing them ration kits to 1000+ families to help them go through the toughest pandemic times.
5. Last year during winter we distributed almost 200+ sweaters to keep them warm during the climate change.
I visited a school at Marabbihaal Tanda, where children of migrant sugar cane fileds study. They are from very poor background and are in need of books and stationary.
As Underprivileged children miss out on every opportunity to live a nourishing childhood, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Less than half of children between the ages of 6 and 14 go to school in the country. As these children grow, they are less likely to support themselves fully or become contributing citizens to the country.
We ( me and my team mates) have physically visited the school and verified the requirements.
Students are academically very good, and it's worth supporting them.
