COVID-19 taught us a lot about climate change. With pandemic lockdown restrictions, many have (re)captured their commitment to sustainability. Planting trees has increased in popularity as a solution to the problems of climate change in recent years, but it’s not just the wild forest that needs attention.

“The idea of sustainable cities is linked to an older concept of sustainable plant communities… Natural resources are renewed rather than depleted. However, this kind of sustainability for trees in the city cannot be achieved because the natural cycles have been interrupted there. Continuity of urban trees depends on human intervention.” The researchers believe more species-specific research could help city planners decide which trees may be the best fit for a city.

Benefits of Planting Trees

Most often we plant trees to provide shade and beautify our landscapes. These are great benefits but trees also provide other less obvious benefits.

Social Benefits

Trees make life nicer. It has been shown that spending time among trees and green spaces reduces the amount of stress that we carry around with us in our daily lives. Hospital patients have been shown to recover from procedure more quickly when their hospital room offered a view of trees. Children have been shown to retain more of the information taught in schools if they spend some of their time outdoors in green spaces. Trees are often planted as living memorials or reminders of loved ones or to commemorate significant events in our lives. About NGO

We also do social campaigns for corporates. Our Ngo is 5 years old and we work for Food distribution among the needy and SAVE environment- planting trees within city limits.
